The Vaal region is located south of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is strategically placed as the meeting point of major provinces in South Africa. The Vaal region is a recreation destination which combines natural beauty, rich history, and diverse cultures. The region is also a destination for those looking for opportunities; it is home to different universities and colleges and is highly industrialised. The two main universities in the area that we are targeting as our mission field are the North West University (NWU) and the Vaal University of Technology (VUT). NWU is situated along the banks of the Vaal River and has 11, 700 students from diverse backgrounds; and VUT is within a short distance of NWU and has a diverse student population of 21, 000. One of the main attractions of the Vaal region is the Vaal River which supplies water to most of South Africa and forms the border between the Gauteng and Free State provinces.


Chere and Sesi Molupe lead a city-wide ministry in the Vaal region in South Africa. They have lived and served in the Vaal region for the past 17 years. Chere and Sesi lead the city-ministry together with a team that comprises of Navigator staff, young professionals, and the youth. The team ministers together within the different communities and sectors of the Vaal region to advance the gospel. The current national focus is to revive the student ministry in South Africa. The revival of the student ministry in the Vaal region is seen as strategically important in realising the goal of reviving the national ministry. You will also learn from the vast experience of the team that ministers to students, graduates, and people in the community. You will also get to interact with and learn from the broader Navigators of South Africa community as we advance the gospel in South Africa.


Join a dedicated team of men and women who minister together within a community and are committed to seeing the gospel penetrate different sectors of society. They have ministries among the youth in the community, marketplace, and families. Their focus is to revive the student ministry and to ensure a smooth transition of students into the marketplace and community. Since students need community, the team has a strong community ministry that serves to support students while on campus. You will spend time reading the bible with students, forming relationships, and trusting God together with a team to raise the next generation of gospel carriers among the students and into the communities where God plants them in the country.
